Bye, Git Live!

It was a fun experience building and launching Git Live for the 2014 GitHub Data Challenge. Over the last year, there were 45,000 page views, with individuals spending a total of 166 days worth of time looking at the visualization.

Because there were some costs involved in running the website, I’m going to be taking it down now. Perhaps one day I’ll turn Git Live into a screensaver or something — I think that would be really cool.

The software powering Git Live is now open source. It’s a bit of a mess, and there’s very little documentation, so use it at your own risk!
